Chedi Wadi Safar

On Riyadh’s northwestern outskirts, in a valley that held the foundations of the First Saudi State, Chedi Wadi Safar opens onto one of the most significant landscapes in the Arab world.

Diriyah, home to At-Turaif – a UNESCO World Heritage Site whose mudbrick walls have stood for three centuries – is not a backdrop here. It is the reason everything looks, and feels, the way it does.

Designed by KCA International, the hotel does not sit atop the landscape – it emerges from it. Local stone, timber and clay-toned renders carry the same warm hues as the ageless rock beneath. Its 85 suites and villa residences, each with a private pool, are carefully arranged to feel discovered rather than built.

Shaped by Najdi architectural tradition, the property reveals itself slowly – low walls, shaded passages and courtyards that appear when you are not looking for them. Move through the property and you may lose track of where you are going, but never of where you are. Each turn reveals another courtyard. Each pause has a purpose. Every moment, its own destination.

Step outside onto your terrace and At-Turaif is simply there – three centuries of mudbrick walls, warmed by the sun, and entirely yours.
